Kidman and Cruz clash over children

Australian actress Nicole Kidman is said to be furious that ex-husband Tom Cruise is introducing his new girlfriend, Penelope Cruz, into their children's lives.
Cruise, who co-stars with the sultry Spanish beauty in Vanilla Sky, invited her to his Colorado estate earlier this month, while he was taking care of Isabella, eight, and six-year-old Conor.
''He parked the children with his sister at what he calls 'Camp Cruise' so that he and Penelope could spend their days together,'' a friend of Kidman told The New York Daily News. ''Nicole is furious. She feels that if he wants to move on with Penelope, fine, just let the kids stay with their mother.''
Kidman is also upset by a report that Cruz took the children on a toy-shopping spree, telling them they could have anything they wanted.
''Nicole wouldn't approve,'' said the friend. ''She doesn't want spoiled 'star children'. She doesn't want people saying bad things about Tom in front of the kids. But she's concerned about the psychological effect all this is having on them.''
Cruise's spokeswoman, Pat Kingsley, denied the toy-shop incident ever happened. She added that Cruise is taking care of the children this month and part of September while Kidman promotes her new film, the thriller The Others.
''I don't know what they're going to do after that,'' she said. ''But I don't think the kids are having any problems.''
The star couple's divorce became final earlier this month but they have yet to sort out child custody.
