Information on Form Six places available on mobiles

Students can search for available Form Six places on mobile phones under a free service provided by six phone companies.

Subscribers who use CWHKT's 1010 and One2Free, Orange, Smartone, New World Mobility, Sunday and Peoples services can register via the Internet and access the service from tomorrow, when results of the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Form Five public examination will be released.

"Using the Internet to search for Secondary Six vacancies is inconvenient and paging services do not have enough functions," said Jason Chiu Tsz-kiu, a spokesman for the service provided by the six companies." Centralised information is provided by the Education Department and updated by the schools.

The service works on both older generation mobile phones and WAP phones, which can access the Internet.
