LEGCO ELECTIONS

Election notebook

ANGELA LI

Non-affiliated Margaret Ng Ngoi-yee, running against former Law Society president Anthony Chow Wing-kin in the legal functional constituency, squeezed in some time with her election team to attend Evensong at St John's Cathedral.
The programme was performed by the Robinson College chapel choir of Cambridge University - the college at which Ms Ng was awarded her law degree. Last night was the last of the choir's series of concerts here. Ms Ng and her election team headed for the vote-counting centre in Wan Chai after polling ended.
Many candidates complained of losing their voices after endless canvassing. Frederick Fung Kin-kee and Bruce Liu Sing-lee of the Association for Democracy and People's Livelihood, took a break to sip herbal tonic in a Shekkipmei Chinese medicine shop.
Normally a dosage of once a day would be enough, but the pair had two - not because their throats were hurting badly, but because some of the photographers missed the moment the first time round.
